The Naïades Fountain

Nothing more than a simple spring originally, the Naïades Fountain was converted in the 18th century. The fountain served all and was used for all purposes: drinking water was drawn from it, laundry was washed there, livestock drank from it. Maybe it was at this fountain that one of Roussillon's inhabitants, Jean-Estienne Astier, came to draw water to wash ochrous sand and become the first ochre-manufacturer from the Vaucluse?
