Saint-Pierre-d'Agnane, time for water

The Vaucluse Fountain lying to the east of the Monts de Vaucluse is France's main source, and one of the key sources worldwide, with an average flow of 21m3/s and its maximum exceeding 100m3/s.
It is supplied by seepage, rain and snow on the Mont Ventoux Mountains, the Lure Mountain, the Monts de Vaucluse and the Plateau d'Albion, extending across more than 1,200km2.
These limestone mountains were deeply hollowed out to form underground networks. At the very depths of them, at -600 metres, rivers that supply the Fontaine de Vaucluse source flow. Tracing experiments have brought to light underground water flow paths as far as 60 kilometres to the east.
